Architecture surrounds us. To truly capture it one must think outside the box and combine all elements of photography.
Viewing architecture through the lens of a photographer gives an audience a visual appreciation for the beauty and complexity of the buildings and structures in our environment. The architectural make up of a city is an art form in itself and can tell a story about the growth and development of a city.
Australia’s history can be told through its unique combination of adored heritage buildings, structures and modern marvels that are taking shape in our major capital cities.
To submit your photo entry for the Architecture category, please ensure it adheres to the following criteria:
- Must be within Australia – no overseas architecture will be accepted for submission.
- Must not be heavily altered – images submitted to this category need to be entered “as is”, with no major modifications to lighting, colour/contrast, custom filters, etc.
- Must be taken with DSLR, Action Cam or similar – mobile phone photos will not be accepted. EXIF data will be required for shortlisted contestants.
- Architecture Focused – buildings, bridges & man-made constructions must be the focus of the photograph.
You will be judged on your ability to capture unique lighting, angles, and moods of Australian architecture in a way that has not yet been done before.
